How often a consumer wipe-on coating actually needs reapplying, by the three conditions that matter: climate, where the car sleeps, and how often it's washed. Guidance derived from the coating failure-mode research — stated plainly instead of 'watch the beading.'
Recommended reapply interval: every ~11 months
Assumes hand washing with pH-neutral soap. Brush car washes fall outside any interval — mechanical abrasion is the fastest way to kill a thin film, whatever the calendar says. Strong degreasers (above ~pH 9–11) shorten every interval.

Base figure: 12 months marketed protection per application (marketed figure — protection duration per application with ph-neutral maintenance washing; hydrophobic beading strongest through the first ~6 months), reduced by condition penalties from the failure-mode ranking: outdoor parking (UV), road salt and coastal air (chemical attack), wash frequency (abrasion). Floor of 3 months.
